There may be someone in your database who has experienced a layoff due to the coronavirus pandemic. But you won’t know until you ask.

Right now, during these challenging times, it’s more important than ever for real estate professionals to make meaningful connections.

There are resources available for homeowners affected by the pandemic, which they should pursue sooner rather than later. With circumstances changing so rapidly, your past clients should not wait until they get behind on payments. What the 2008 recession taught us is that waiting until you’re already behind on payments may exclude you from some relief programs. We as real estate professionals saw this a lot in 2009. Your clients need your guidance to get in front of what could come by showing them that help is available.

The time for many to act starts now, even at the early stages of this pandemic. I believe these relief efforts begin with you, the trusted real estate professional. It’s up to you to understand your clients’ pain points and be a knowledge leader. Watch my “10-Minute(ish) MBA” video below to kickstart your resource list for clients. Here are a few to help you get started: Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the Federal Housing Finance Agency.

I would love to hear from you. Give me a shout on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, or by visiting LearnWithDrLee.com. And, be sure to tell the real estate agents you know to get a copy of the five-star rated workbook, Plan to Win!, to transform their real estate sales game plan. Here’s to your success.
