Colin Roe started in the real estate business at the ripe age of 17 years old as an administrative coordinator for his cousin’s brokerage. Today, this Placer County, Calif., resident is a passionate YPN affiliate partner as a sales rep for Fidelity National Title. With four years under his belt, Roe says this is his dream job for multiple reasons: First, he enjoys being part of the American dream of homeownership. Secondly, he finds great satisfaction in helping real estate professionals grow their business while providing quality service.

Roe is an active member at the Placer County Association of REALTORS®, where he was named 2015 Affiliate of the Year. Colin has participated in YPN for five years, helping coordinate events and present information through social media.

He’s most enthusiastic about his YPN’s educational events. Speakers have included Tom Ferry and Hal Elrod, drawing more than 400 attendees to each event. He says they also have a lot of fun at the monthly mixers that help foster relationship-building and growth in the industry.

The Placer County YPN hosts a large annual fundraising event each year with more than 900 attendees. The goal is to raise money for the local real estate foundation, where funds are donated to local non-profit organizations. For the last two years, they raised more than $30,000 annually, which has had a significant impact in the community, he says.

Roe’s advice to new and younger agents is to dive in, and be authentic in your approach. Giving all you have of yourself will help drive your success, he says. And don’t lead with an ask, but rather be of service to those around you.
